Hoopla is Coming to Salem and Bigger Than Ever

Salem, Ore. — Hoopla is celebrating its 24th year in 2023 and is ready to play July 25 – 30. Oregon’s premiere 3-on-3 street court basketball tournament will bring more than 1,000 teams, 4,000 participants, and 700 volunteers. Athletes of all skills and ages will lace up their sneakers and compete against the backdrop of the Oregon State Capitol grounds in downtown Salem. Go to http://oregonhoopla.com to learn more.

On Monday, July 24, several road closures will impact travel around the Oregon State Capitol Complex.

Temporary Road Closures Include:

  • Beginning Monday, July 24, at 6 p.m. through Sunday, July 30, at 9 p.m., the following streets near the State Capitol will be closed as courts are set up for the basketball tournament:

State Street between 12th Street NE and Church Street NE

  • From Friday, July 28, at 4 p.m., to Sunday, July 30, at 9 p.m., the following streets will be closed for the tournament:

Cottage Street NE between State Street and Court Street NE

  • From Friday, July 28, at 6 p.m., to Sunday, July 30, at 9 p.m., the following streets will be closed for the tournament:

Court Street NE between 12th Street NE and Cottage Street NE

Winter St NE between Court St NE and Chemeketa St NE

Those needing parking access at the State Capitol for Americans with Disabilities or State Police will be allowed access to the underground parking garage from Tuesday, July 25, to Friday, July 28, from the Ferry and Winter Street SE intersection.
