If you hear sirens and see lots of emergency personnel and vehicles around the airport on Wednesday, September 13, don’t be alarmed. It’s a drill – a full-scale mass casualty drill to test the airport emergency plan. The drill is a requirement by the Federal Aviation Administration to be licensed for commercial flights. It must be completed before Avelo Airlines makes its first flight to Las Vegas on October 5.
