Salem City Council will meet in a joint work session with Marion County Board of Commissioners to hear a Gun Violence Problem Analysis Report on Monday, November 20, starting at 6 p.m. In response to increased community violence, the Salem Police Department commissioned the analysis to better understand the factors involved. The report was done in collaboration with law enforcement partners in Marion County.
Second Work Session Kicks Off 2024 Policy Agenda |
A second work session that same night, starting at 7 p.m., will kick off the Council’s 2024 Policy Agenda process. Through its annual policy agenda, the City Council makes its priorities for action clear to staff and the community and provides direction on aligning resources toward Strategic Plan Policy areas through the City’s budgeting process. The 2023 City Council Policy Agenda was adoped February 13, 2023.
