Salem City Council welcomes three new City Councilors and a new Mayor to be sworn into office Monday, January 13. The Council will meet at 6 p.m. in Salem City Hall Council Chambers, Second Floor, 555 Liberty Street SE.

In other business, the council will:
- Honor Center for Home and Safety Executive Director Jayne Downing
- Appoint people to boards and commissions
- Consider a temporary property lease house temporary Salem City Hall services
- Set May 20, 2025 as the date for a special election to fill the open Ward 6 council position
- Request a forest restoration project to reduce invasive species and plant native species in the Minto Island Conservation Area
