The Center 50+ Van stands for Wellness on Wheels. The WOW Van will be designed with the “WOW”- giving additional visibility to Center 50+ and the senior services we provide throughout the community. The van is re-purposed to deliver services to home-bound seniors, adult foster care, community care settings, age 55+neighborhoods and apartments, clubhouses, and pop-up programs throughout the whole community. Our focus is on connecting older adults to the 7-dimensions of wellness which are: spiritual, physical, emotional, career, intellectual, environmental, and social.
The WOW Van activities include:
- Fitness and wellness programs
- Personal training
- Improving mobility
- Nutrition education
- Arts and crafts
- Brain health
- Puzzles
- Games
- Lifelong learning
The WOW Van services provided:
- Fall prevention
- Fix-it brigade
- Home safety inspections
- Friendly visitor
- Technology tutoring
- Birthday deliveries.
We will continue to evaluate what other Center 50+ programs and activities could be incorporated into this outreach. We look forward to serving our community.
