Each week at Nuestra Casa, the Dream Center distributes food, baby food & formula, hygiene items, and more to families in need. Rain or shine, people begin lining up more than an hour before Nuestra Casa opens, just to have food for their families. When possible, they also deliver food to homebound families in the Edgewater District. The need for these items is growing and is expected to grow in the fall.
Sadly, food has run out, and some people have been turned away in the past two weeks. An emergency food box program called Farm to Family ended this week, which means the Dream Center won’t be receiving those emergency food boxes anymore.
The Dream Center could use the support of businesses and generous people to help them buy and distribute food, as well as continue supporting children, teens, and families.
