Today on Newsmakers at Noon, it was time for Real Estate Insights with two powerhouse pros: Amy McLeod of The McLeod Group/Keller Williams and Elizabeth Smith of Smith Mortgage Team/Success Mortgage.
Elizabeth kicked things off with an update on mortgage rates and some of the lending products available to buyers right now. But that led straight into the bigger question facing plenty of sellers: Where have all the buyers gone?
Amy and Elizabeth broke down some of the reasons properties may be taking longer to move, and what sellers can actually do about it. That brought us to “Winner-Winner Chicken Dinner!” and a conversation about how sellers can position themselves to win in today’s market rather than simply waiting and hoping a buyer comes along.
Then came a real lightbulb moment for Denise – and probably for a lot of listeners. Amy and Elizabeth explained why a seller’s real estate agent working with a knowledgeable lender can be so valuable. Looking at a home through the eyes of a potential buyer, including what the monthly payment actually looks like, can uncover obstacles the seller may never have considered. Sometimes it’s not simply the asking price that’s keeping buyers away.
It was a really good, practical hour with two women who know their industries and work exceptionally well together, lots of useful information for buyers, sellers and anyone trying to make sense of today’s real estate market.
