On today’s show, Denise and Hunter welcome SKSD parent, Casity Troutt. Casity has been active and vocal in her advocacy for children with regard to curriculum, library content, and district policies. She attended a rally earlier in the week at the Student Services building and witnessed firsthand the behavior of individuals who attempted to intimidate parents and kids who were there to push back on district policies they disagree with. Casity also detailed her experience with requesting reconsideration of library materials: how she was treated by the committee assembled to hear her concerns and how one SKSD board director came to her assistance.
