🎙️ Guest: Salem Mayor Julie Hoy stopped by to discuss positive developments happening in Salem and provide updates on her re-election campaign. Topics included community priorities, city improvements, and the importance of staying engaged as ballots continue to come in across Oregon.

🗳️ We also discussed current primary election ballot return rates and the importance of voter participation as Election Day approaches.

🌊 A major regional issue also took center stage: the Marion County Board of Commissioners formally announced a federal lawsuit against the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, seeking to pause efforts to drain Detroit Lake until legally required turbidity studies are completed and the public has an opportunity to comment.

The lawsuit centers around concerns tied to lessons learned from similar problems caused by draining nearby Green Peter Lake and whether the Army Corps has complied with federal requirements before moving forward.

A wide-ranging show focused on community partnerships, local leadership, civic engagement, and protecting vital regional resources.
