🎙️ Guest: Phil Kerpen, President of American Commitment, joined us for a deep dive into what’s really driving rising healthcare costs in America.

Kerpen made the case that big insurance companies are a major force behind skyrocketing healthcare costs—not just through their business practices, but through political influence and ongoing demands for taxpayer dollars.
He argued that over the past two decades, there has been a shift from opposition to a close partnership between major insurers and policymakers, resulting in higher premiums and fewer choices for patients. With family premiums now exceeding $25,000 annually, Kerpen emphasized the need for real reform.
His proposed solutions include:
- Redirecting employer and taxpayer dollars toward patient-controlled healthcare options
- Expanding access to a wider range of insurance products, including Obamacare-exempt plans
- Increasing price transparency and competition through direct-pay medical services
The message: the current system is not working for patients—and meaningful change requires moving in a very different direction.
