Matt continues his conversation with Eric Rasor of Soaring Heights Recovery Homes, taking a deeper look at both the tremendous need in our community and the lives being changed through recovery.
Soaring Heights receives eight to ten applications every week, a sobering indication of how many people are looking for a way out of addiction, homelessness, incarceration, and instability – and how few resources are available to help them make that transition successfully.
Eric shares the story of one former resident whose life was transformed through the program and who now works for Soaring Heights, helping others follow the same path. He also offers an important perspective on one of the most complicated issues facing our communities. When people ask him, “How do you fix homelessness?” his response is simple: “Which part?” It’s a reminder that homelessness isn’t a single problem with a single solution.
Eric also talks about the upcoming Soaring Heights Vision Dinner on September 25. Proceeds from the event will go toward purchasing another recovery home, allowing the organization to reach even more individuals and families who are ready for a new beginning.
